David Nichols, MBA, President of The NicholsManagement Group (NMG) possesses extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of laboratory operations, marketing and finance.
Since 1988, Mr. Nichols has been President of The Nichols Management Group, LTD. (NMG), a clinical and anatomic laboratory consulting practice based in York Harbor, Maine. NMG serves a variety of independent laboratories, integrated delivery systems and managed care organizations regarding strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and interim/turnaround management. Since founding the company in 1988, NMG has identified, negotiated, and closed eleven acquisitions worth over $1 Billion. As president of NMG,Mr. Nichols leads laboratory consulting for a number of healthcare systems, independent laboratory, biotechnology, private equity and managed care clients. He has conducted numerous industry seminar presentations and has frequently been quoted in The New YorkTimes, The Wall Street Journal, Modern Healthcare, Bloomberg and other leading publications.
Previously, Mr. Nichols served as Director of Worldwide Business Planning for Allergan Pharmaceuticals. In this position, he developed worldwide business strategies to support key prescription and diagnostic product lines throughout the United States and over 80 international markets. Mr. Nichols also served as Manager of Physician Marketing and ManagedCare for SmithKline Clinical Laboratories where he developed and implemented corporate-wide marketing programs.
In other positions, Mr.Nichols served as Market Research Analyst and subsequently, Senior SalesRepresentative at Quest Diagnostics where he championed the development ofHospital Shared Services Laboratory in Poughkeepsie, NY, which was the first core lab in the country.
Mr. Nichols received hisMBA from Cornell University with a concentration in health care marketing where he was also awarded the Sloan Certificate in Hospital Administration. Undergraduate studies include Labor Relations at the University of Bath, England and a B.B.A. from the University ofMiami. Mr. Nichols serves as a director on numerous for profit and non-profit boards. He is an avid fly fisherman residing with his family in York Harbor,Maine.
